It was so hard for me convince my customers to buy. Why? Because they would like to see it first. They don’t know what they are buying. However, I could have sold more with the same items if I were to do this in a retail store.

Unfortunately, a lot of people often fail to sell their products on internet because they don’t understand how hard it could be to market them when they first enter this business. They usually spent a lot of time on making the product instead of marketing it. Therefore, most of them end up really disappointed and give up too quickly.

The key lesson for you is to realize that you should spent more time on marketing a product than thinking about how to create a it. If you can do this then you become a good marketer and earn some money. If you master how to market all kinds of products then you will be a great internet marketer and become a very rich person!

On internet you can find a lot of people wasting their time on social networking sites. Although these sites have high traffic potential, it is really hard for you to convince a person on a social network to buy something. How are you going to sell something to someone who is playing FarmVille 24/7? It is possible to do but generally not preferred.

People who are willing to make purchases on internet seek for product reviews and information. A lot of people make money on internet by working as an article marketer. I prefer to get involved in affiliate programs because they are clearly the best source of revenue for you on internet. Many companies have seen the benefits of employing affiliate marketers to ramp up their revenues. By doing so, companies managed to cut down their costs and increased their sales.

The idea of an affiliate program is simply the following:
A company has products and they want you, the internet marketer, to sell them. They will give you a commission on each sale. They want to accomplish this on a massive scale because this will increase their revenues dramatically and lower their production and advertisement costs. There are various types of affiliate programs out there and you can easily sign up with them by filling some information like your name, address, paypal info and so on.

I prefer to sign-up with companies that offer a service-based products because I believe they are the most profitable ones. Let me give you an example:

Let’s say you signed up with an affiliate program that wants you to promote their dating service. Something like match.com. Let’s say they pay you $20 per $40 transaction. So for the first month let’s say you got 10 people signed up:

10 people X $20 = $200.

Ok since this is a service meaning that the buyer can still keep his membership with the website, you can actually make more money! Why? Because often times these companies agree to pay you a commission each time the user renews or extend its membership. Isn’t this great?

So out of 10 people, 4 of them continued to stay as a member.
